    Heirloom Quality Waterproof Photographic Charms
Timeless, Handcrafted Jewelry Created From Your Treasured Photos

/Jewelry PR News/ - San Francisco, CA, July 08, 2005 - Two San Francisco Bay Area moms are introducing a line of charms that combines the grace of the Victorian era with the durability of modern jewelry design. All of the custom-made photographic charms are available as single or double-sided pendant necklaces, charm bracelets, key rings or earrings.

In today's world of "disposable," "virtual," and "impersonal," the concept of an heirloom piece of jewelry with photos of family, pets and friends is reassuringly timeless. While away on frequent trips, a flight attendant has her family on her bracelet . When work gets crazy for an attorney and she needs a little pick-me-up, she looks at her bracelet of photographic charms. A husband gives pendants to his wife and his mother, and buys a keychain for himself.

Through extensive development, Dawn Tope and Amy Rose have created exquisite heirloom quality waterproof photographic charms, handcrafted of sterling silver and/or 18-karat gold. Each personalized photograph is size-adjusted to obtain the best possible display quality.

Hand beveled glass protects each image from water and chemicals, and enhances image size. Each of the finished charms measures approximately 8mm in size and offers superb image clarity. All pieces are guaranteed for structural integrity and waterproofing.

Beginning with the simplicity of a photographic charm, Dawn Tope sought to create charms that would not only expand on the tradition of photographic jewelry, but also withstand time, water, cosmetics, sunscreen and perfume. Dawn, an oncology nurse by profession who had a desire to improve a Victorian jewelry concept which incorporates photographs with charms, and Amy Rose, a silversmith of 18 years who has long had a fondness for creating sentimental designs, met thorough mutual friends and began their collaboration in April 2004 as Image Under Glass.

Driven by their passion to create one-of-a-kind sentimental heirloom pieces, which are practical and functional in today's world, they are pleased and encouraged with the response from their initial customers.

Each order takes approximately two to four weeks after images are received, and photos are returned with the finished jewelry. All charms are made to order at the Image Under Glass studios located in the San Francisco Bay Area. Orders may be made through the website at www.iugstudio.com.
