In fact, both her mother and grandmother were teachers. Today, she is a self-described "girlie girl" who wants to set a positive example for today's children. Ms. Stephenson-Mitchell holds a master's degree in elementary education from Mercy College and a bachelor's degree in human services. A certified elementary and middle school teacher, she maintains active affiliation with the National Education Association.
