Chris Winspear Design Jewellers presents the first AIDS Brooch Gala
The grand finale of Chris Winspear's AIDS Brooch campaign was the Gala evening on Monday 28th November at the Protea Hotel Fire&Ice at Melrose Arch, Johannesburg. The signature brooch was auctioned off for R8000, which was donated to an NGO.
GAUTENG, SOUTH AFRICA, December 01, 2011 /Jewelry PR News/ -- As the icon for his campaign, Chris Winspear designed a signature brooch in the form of an AIDS ribbon. The piece of jewellery is made of 18 carat white gold and set with rubies. To support the project, local celebrities, like Barry Hilton, Bevan Cullinan and Leanne Mol signed certificates, which were auctioned off combined with the brooch for R8000.
Apart from several special guests like Jen Su and John Vlismas, also on board was Jason Greer as the Master of Ceremonies for the evening, and the well-known auctioneer Joff Van Reenen, who entertained the guests whilst bringing the brooch under the hammer. After the auction, all guests had the chance to buy replica pins of the signature piece. 20% of the proceeds were donated once again to the NGO St. Francis.
With the AIDS Brooch campaign Chris Winspear is supporting World AIDS Day and breathing new life into a very important cause. In cooperation with some of the sponsors, the jewellery designer is planning further charity events for next year.
